He found her sitting on the sidewalk, back leaning against a bright yellow stucco boutique. Yellow really wasn't her color. She held a bottle of what seemed, by the smell, to be peach brandy. Nasty waste of good alcohol, in his opinion.
"Red?"
"Hmm?" she asked, not even looking up at him.
"What 're ya doin' here in the middle of the night?"
She giggled, still looking at his knees. "I know who you are. You're the Prince of Darkness."
He smiled at that. "Yes," he said, still smiling, "I've killed Ozzy and stolen the crown. The tour starts next month."
She giggled again. "Not that Prince of Darkness, silly, the other one."
"Never had the pleasure."
"There's a song," she said, "kinda old." She was still staring at his legs. "Woman says the devil has blue eyes and blue jeans. I think she meant black jeans, but blue sounded better for the song."
Spike wasn't sure if he should be worried or amused. Her thinkin' he was the devil an' all.
"What did the devil do, in this song?" he was genuinely curious - if she was comparing it to him.
"He came to tempt the woman to sin and she didn't want to."
He smirked down at her. "You think I'm tryin' to tempt you inta sinnin', Red?"
"I'm Jewish; we're not big with the sin."
He helped her to stand and backed her into the stucco wall of the building.
He leaned in, making her very nervous. It felt like he was about to kiss her but before their lips connected, he stopped and asked, "Do I tempt you, Red?"
He pulled back a bit and waited.
After a moment of hesitation, she nodded.
He leaned back in and confided, "You tempt me too," before taking her mouth in a kiss.
The End
