It wasn't supposed to happen this way. It was supposed to be Spike with Buffy and Tara with Willow for all time and eternity. Forever.

It wasn't supposed to begin with tears and a kiss; they weren't supposed to come together with understanding and compassion. There are so many things wrong with what they're doing now. Becoming friends, becoming lovers - finding that what was supposed to be didn't feel as good as what was never supposed to happen.

Will it work? Will they last? Who knows? Certainly not them. But they just can't make themselves stop this voyage of discovery.
